Mahogany added to Popular Classic Series

Popularity of the Classic series of desk top letter trays has been unprecedented. Apparently many people love the feel and warmth the wood offers and like the slightly "retro" look of the tray styling.
Even if it's just the look that you like, the selection has now been expanded to include solid mahogany construction in addition to the existing solid oak and solid walnut woods. The raw mahogany is coated and protected with a clear lacquer that provides a tough satin finish.
Now you can easily match that mahogany desk or office trim in the simple and elegant lines of the classic series!

Assembling Harvard Stacking Posts

And for those who have elected to purchase Harvard or Cherry Ridge style trays in multiple configurations, you may be required to assemble the trays and the stacking posts when you receive your trays. They are normally shipped from the factory unassembled to avoid damage in transit. Never the less, they are actually very simple to assemble. But, if care is not used, damage can occur to the trays.
Watch this youTube video to learn the correct, safe way of "Installing Harvard Series Tray Stacking Supports".

Using Stacking Supports with Hedberg Trays

Stacking supports (07256) are designed to be used with Hedberg, Classic, American Legal and Archetype series desk trays. These supports can be added to existing trays at any time to create a vertical stack of trays, as long as all the trays are the same size, (ie: all letter size or all legal size, not a mixture of letter and legal). There is a youTube video that shows the correct installation of these supports located at "Letter Tray Stacking Supports"
These supports will not work with the Harvard or the Cherry Ridge series of trays due to the difference in wall thicknesses the supports are designed for.

Letter Tray Configurations

There is a bit of confusion over the names of some of the SuccessImage trays - people generally use the terms "desk tray", "in box", "out box", "letter tray", "paper tray" and a few other variations to describe these typical office trays.

Care should be used though in using the term "letter" as this sometimes refers to the sizing of the tray - that being specifically intended for letter size paper (8 1/2" x 11"). That is in contrast to those intended for legal size paper (8 1/2" x 14"). These trays are also sometimes referred to as letter trays, but in this case the name refers to letters as objects rather than a specific size (letter size being 8 1/2" x 11").

Perhaps we should refer to the trays in general as "desk top paper trays" and then use the terms "letter" and "legal" to only refer to the size, but in the meantime, use care in the use of the terms to avoid any misunderstandings or disappointment.

Picking the Right Book Rack or Binder Rack

When looking for book racks, it's a good idea to select racks that will blend in with the decor and enhance the beauty of the room you intend on using them in. This will assist in reflecting the meticulousness of your organization and create confidence in your clientèle. The book racks and binder racks we offer come in three distinct models and are made of different kinds of woods that can match your office decor. They are designed to allow them to be used on desk tops or other free standing surfaces.

Our standard desktop bookracks are constructed with a 17” length, a depth of 7 ¾” and a height of 8”. You can place 16” books with ease in these racks. The divider that comes built into these racks can slide across the width of the rack to act as a bookend to hold the books upright if there are only a few books on the rack. The empty rack weighs a mere 6 pounds and can be placed with ease on desktops or cabinets to hold those inevitable reference books that help run your organization and will add a scholarly touch to the ambiance of the room.

The Cherry version of our bookrack of the above rack is more elegantly finished and the edges are embedded with the cherry series insignia in brass and gold plating, but without a sliding divider. These models are available in a Natural Cherry or a Dark Cherry finish. The Dark Cherry version (dubbed “Seasoned Cherry”), is created by an application of a dark stain to cherry hardwood. The bookracks in this series weigh in at 7 pounds.

Binder racks are larger versions of the bookrack. These binder racks have been designed to hold large 8 ½” x 11” binders. The binder rack is about 17” long and has a depth of 10”. While the length of the binder rack is the same as that of the book racks, it has a height of 10 inches and weighs 8 pounds. The integral slider of the book racks is also not used in this model. The binder racks are available in oak, walnut and mahogany.

The bookracks and binder racks listed above are made from 3/4" thick solid hardwood. No veneers or plywoods are used and all pieces are assembled with high quality wood craftsman's joints and glues. Users are not required to assemble any parts, they come completely ready to use. They all have natural wood color finishes (except for the darker stain of the dark cherry finish), and are coated with a lacquer finish to protect the wood.

The book racks and binder racks can also function as a reading stands without any modifications at all. You can simply place the book on the rack and use it as a reading stand as the angle is just right for the purpose!

Bookends are alternates to bookracks and can be used as freestanding units to hold items that cannot be accommodated elsewhere.

Complementary office desk accessories can be purchased to set off the beauty of these luxurious racks and add to the grace and beauty of the room decor.

So, select bookracks, binder racks and bookends to set off the decor of your office, create the right impressions and imbue your room with the personality that attracts your clientèle and brings you success!

Available Hardwood Types

At SuccessImage, we manufacture all our desk accessories from real hardwoods. Each of our "series" of desk top products are available in specific hardwood types. For example, the Harvard Series is made from either Walnut, Oak or Mahogany and the Cherry Ridge Series is made exclusively from Cherry. Due to each series design and styling, not all items from one series may be available in another series.
In contrast to this, several of our office accessories are made from a wider selection of the hardwoods we offer and are not specific to any given "series". Waste baskets and wall files are examples of these and are designed to be made from, and are available in, all the hardwood types we manufacture in.

Comfortable chair mats - Partial Area Rugs

What to do when a wheeled chair is partially on an area rug and partially on hardwood?

This is an interesting and challenging arrangement for most chair mats. Most moderately uneven surfaces can be handled by our chair mats by the addition of additional rubber backing pads at our factory. We do this routinely at no charge and it works well with surfaces such as slate, stone and other such irregular surfaces. Simply specify at time of order that the mat is to be used on an irregular surface.

In this case though, the abrupt transition from a relatively thick rug to none at all would cause some problem for both the mat itself as well as the comfort of the user, due to the unlevel surface.

Our suggested solution for this is to obtain a small piece of carpet of approximately the same thickness as the area rug for the portion of the mat not backed by area rug. The mat would then be laid over the area rug and the piece of carpet. If the carpet piece was trimmed to the exact outline of the mat, a level surface would result without detracting from the appearance of the area rug and the hardwood. Any possible movement of the carpet below the mat from normal use can be controlled with application of small stick-on velcro strips which will not harm the floor or the mat and can be easily removed.

Card File Boxes and Follow Blocks

SuccessImage carries a large number of sizes of index card files including those for 3x5, 4x6 and 5x8 index cards. Each size is also available in four depths - 3, 6, 9 and 12 inches.
The 9 inch and 12 inch sizes are fitted with follow blocks that can be placed anywhere in the length of the card file.
The follow block has a release lever behind the block (not really a block, but rather a metal plate). When this lever is squeezed together with the block, much like a clothes-pin, it is free to move forward and back along the rod. When released, the spring mechanism locks the block in place. This allows any number of cards to be placed in the card file box and remain standing upright. Note that only the 9 inch and 12 inch long boxes are equipped with this mechanism.

Desk Pads - SuccessImage.com

Did you know that the Successimage desk pads are made from a material that protects and heals itself?
The wonder material creates a very smooth, consistant surface that is very comfortable to write on. It creates a "compliant" surface that gives just a bit under light pressure, making even the most stubborn pen flow with ease and a smooth flow.
And on the other side, the material incorporates a built-in protective padding that protects any surface it is placed on from scratches, nicks and general wear. Plus, the padding grips the surface it is placed on just enough to stop slippage and skidding across the surface.
Even better, is the self healing nature of the material. Small nicks and cuts slowly fade away as the material returns to it's original shape. All of this, plus the material is anti-static and anti-bacterial as well.
And if that weren't enough, the material, called "Rhinolin", provides an anti-reflectve surface and even works perfectly as a mouse pad for both traditional and optical mouse devices.
Truly an amazing material! See pictures of the material on the SuccessImage Desk Pads page.

Wonder Material for Desk Pads

It's been called "The World's Finest Writing Surface". And given the amazing properties of the material, Rhinolin probably is. Although it is a synthetic material, the manufacturer of the material states the "firm, self-healing surface 'gives'." Certainly, to write on the material with any type of pen certainly has a comfortable feel with just a hint of resistance. At the same time though, there is a smoothness or a flow to motions made on the surface. An ideal material for desk pads and writing surface areas.
The manufacturer also notes that "shallow cuts, nicks, pressure lines disappear." In fact the material does seem to have a memory of it's own and always seems to return to the perfectly flat, smooth state.
Also of note is that the material provides several other attributes including:
- nonreflective,
- antistatic, and
- antibacterial
Not to mention being biodegradable and made from all-natural materials. And, to top it all off, the material is bonded to a thin foam backing which protects any surface it is placed on.
Amazing material!
See for yourself in the desk pads available on the desk pads selection page of www.successimage.com.

News Release: Office Recycling In Style

SUMMARY:
Extension of an existing stylish product line of high quality waste baskets copes with recycling while keeping office space neat, tidy and elegant.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MARION, Wisconsin / Nov 6 2006 --

With environmental consciousness extending from homes into the workplace, both public and personal, many office space designs and furniture tend to be overwhelmed with recycling containers designed to collect recyclable bottles, cans and papers.

Now, SuccessImage has extended its line of tambour waste baskets to a full 41 quarts in order to handle larger volumes of items.

Wither the same construction as it’s line of rectangular and round tambour waste baskets, the company now offers larger containers that aesthetically match. “The matching hardwood tambour on the larger baskets help blend the basket in with the rest of the office décor” said company spokesman Garnet Bailey. “And the available selection of hardwood types can match virtually any office furniture color schemes,” he added.

Many of the company’s customers currently use the existing 24 quart waste baskets as a stable base for paper shredders. The new 41 quart waste basket is significantly larger and while holding a larger volume, occupies the same floor space as the smaller version.

The company supplies its’ entire range of waste baskets in any of several hardwood finishes including Oak, Walnut, Mahogany and Cherry. The slatted hardwood “tambour” exterior was originally inspired by the classic roll top desk and covers an interior liner for ease of use.

Available on the web from www.successimage.com, SuccessImage has been doing business on the Web since 2001 providing quality, hardwood desk accessories designed to help organize your desk, office or home while improving the look and feel of your space.
